Making Progress Not Excuses

We're well into the New Year 2021. How are you doing so far? Most people start the year off with resolutions or goals. Whatever you decide to do, just follow the blueprint. The small steps will lead you to success.

One of the things that I've learned last year was not to beat myself up over things that I didn't finish or things that weren't done to my perfection.

In 2019, I was suppose to have done a photo session but I kept finding reasons why I couldn't get it done. One day during my daily walk, I thought about things that I had kept postponing. The thought of doing the photo session was at the forefront of my mind. There were so many reasons not to do the photo session in 2020, but I made a decision that I would not make any more excuses. It was hightime to complete this project.

Once I started planning the session, scheduling the hair appointment, hiring a make-up artist, and so on, I began to enjoy the journey. Everything wasn't perfect and it didn't have to be perfect. In this situation, the small step was making the decision to move forward. Once I made the decision to move forward, the task no longer seemed monumental.

I've learned that you have to really give yourself credit for some of the small achievements that you make. It's the small achievements that lead to a 10-year overnight success.

One of my daily affirmations is, "I'm making progress not excuses". This helps me to move forward with energy, dedication, and devotion. I'm reminded that everything doesn't have to be perfect. Perfection can sometimes lead to paralysis. Progress begins with one small step. Sometimes that small step is making the decision to move forward.

Let's celebrate the small successes that generate energy to achieve greater works.

What's one small thing that you have achieved? I'd like to hear about your success. Let's celebrate the small achievements because they are the blueprint to huge wins.

Have a wonderful day!
